Obituary for Maria T. Farruggio


Maria T. Farruggio, 84, of Wall, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Farruggio was born in Sicily, Italy, to the late Gaetano and Rosa Paxia. She came to the United States in 1958 and lived in Yonkers before settling in Wall in 1969. She was a homemaker who enjoyed nothing more than cooking for and feeding her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Farruggio is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Agostino Farruggio. She is also survived by her sons, Gero Farruggio, of Wall, and Thomas Farruggio, and his wife KarenAnn, of Pa. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sarah Hixon and Brianna Farruggio, and her great-grandson, Noah Hixon. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of a great-granddaughter, Ilaria.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Monday, September 24, 2018, from 9 A.M. – 12 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 12 P.M., followed by entombment at St. Anne Cemetery, Wall. Condolences may be sent via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
