Obituary for Dennis John Scrimer
Dennis John Scrimer, 66 of Avon by the Sea passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Dennis was born and raised in Maplewood and was a resident of Avon by the Sea for most of his life.
He was a talented self-employed home improvement contractor in the Shore area for many years.
As an Avon resident, he was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish.
Dennis was predeceased by his father John Gilbert Scrimer and his father in law Leo Gannon. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years Linda (nee Gannon) Scrimer, his children Andrew John Scrimer of Avon by the Sea and Victoria Lynn Scrimer of Washington,DC, his mother Alice (nee Kostas) Scrimer of Bradley Beach, his brother Gregory Gilbert Scrimer of Wilmington DE, his mother in law Mary Gannon, his brother in law Daniel Gannon and wife Carolyn, his sister in law Donna Gilbertson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 424 Lincoln Ave., Avon by the Sea. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW Suite 800, Washington, DC 20005.
