Obituary for Ferdinand Mingione

Ferdinand Mingione, 96, formerly of Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Mr. Mingione worked as a Federal Civil Service Planner and Estimator for the US Navy in Lakehurst before retiring many years ago. He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps from 1943 – 1946 during WWII. He was a member of the Old Guard in Brick and was a communicant of and usher at St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick.
Born and raised in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, he lived in Queens and Brick for many years before recently moving to Whiting.
He was predeceased by his sister, Antoinette “Nettie” Vascellero. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Selma “Sally” Mingione; daughters, Maryann Cardone and her husband, Anthony of Point Pleasant, Beatrice Hilsheimer and her husband, Conrad of Brick, Barbara Mingione of Brick, Theresa Gabel of Cape Coral, FL and Christina Mingione of Langhorne, PA; grandchildren, Shani, Jason, Justin, Jonathan and Richard Jr.; as well as 5 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be on Wednesday from 10am-12pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 12pm in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. For more information please visit www.obrienfuneralhome.com
