Obituary for Edward Bertram Kozemchak

Edward Bertram Kozemchak, 74, passed away at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York.
Edward was born in Dover and raised on a farm in Randolph. He married his high school sweetheart and they raised their family in Allentown, PA, North Andover, MA and Holmdel, NJ. Five grown children and 17 grandchildren later, he spent his last 13 years residing in Spring Lake, NJ.
Edward graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors, Stanford University with a Masters and Columbia University with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Bell Labs, became a Director at AT&T Bell Laboratories and then moved on to work for Coopers and Lybrand. In his ‘retirement’ years, he was a proud owner and business coach of ActionCOACH. His passion for helping businesses succeed lead him to his latest position as a General Manager at EmployVision Inc.. He had an amazing connection with his clients, caring deeply about their success.
Ed was an avid golfer. He explored the many golf courses throughout his travels with family and friends. He loved tennis, music and vacationing in Hilton Head, South Carolina. But his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren were so blessed to all have a special bond with him. While living in Holmdel, Ed was a lector at the Church of Saint Catharine. Upon moving to Spring Lake, he became a parishioner of St. Catharine--St. Margaret.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Ella Kozemchak, sister June Kozemchak and brother in law, Richie Doland. Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years, Karen Kozemchak; cherished children, Donna Hinkle and her husband Robert of Weatherly, PA, David Kozemchak and his wife Ingrid of Hamilton, NJ, Christa Clarke and her husband Kevin of Wall, NJ, Debra Kelly and her husband Christopher of Colts Neck, NJ, Matthew Kozemchak and his wife Christina of Brick, NJ; sisters, Mary Sallo and her husband Frank, Marie Doland, Carolyn Wojcik and her husband Marty; 17 loving grandchildren, 14 nieces and nephews, and his precious dog Callie.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Catharine’s Church in Spring Lake. An interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
