Obituary for Charles E. "Chuck" Mackey
Charles E. “Chuck” Mackey, 57, of West Long Branch, passed away at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune on Tuesday, Dec. 4th, 2018.
Charles, better known as Chuck, was a graduate of Wall High School and worked several part-time jobs. He was a longtime resident of Peter Cooper Village. As a child, Chuck was well-known for doing wheelies in his wheelchair. Chuck will be sorely missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Mackey and three brothers, Raymond Mackey Jr, Richard Mackey and Kenneth Mackey.
Charles is survived by his mother, Doris E. King Mackey of West Long Branch, sisters Barbara Conrad and husband John, Ocean Twp, Judy Smith and husband David, Lakewood, Kathy Gaspich, Longmont, CO., Lynn Thornley and husband Wayne, Gaines, PA, Terry Modri and husband John, Freehold and Tammy Becker and husband Joseph, Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was loved by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 9:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ 07719. Burial will be in the Mackey plot in Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Wall, NJ 08736.
