Obituary for Daniel John Ferguson

Daniel J. Ferguson, 74 of Brick and a longtime resident of Wall Twp. passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Jersey City to the late Harold F. and Eileen Duffy Ferguson, he had resided in Point Pleasant Beach and Boro and then in Wall Township for 20 years before moving to Brick 3 years ago.
Daniel had served as a member of the Army National Guard and then went on to become a News Print Advertising Executive for various newspapers around the country.
He was very active in both playing and umpiring softball in Wall Twp for over 30 years. He was an ASA softball umpire at Rash Field in Wall Twp. for many years. He was also an avid golfer, a collector of Baseball Cards, coins and Records.
Daniel is survived by his devoted wife RoseAnn (nee Potito) Ferguson with whom he would have celebrated his 52nd wedding anniversary this Monday, his children Daniel J. Jr., Christopher Ferguson and his partner Allison Tafuri, Carrie Ferguson and fiancé Akash Parikh, all of Jeffersonville, Vt., and Beth Reynolds and her partner James Bolish of Wall Twp., his 4 grandchildren Alexander Ferguson, Catherine Reynolds, and Shreyas and Jai Parikh, his brother Duncan Ferguson and wife Paula of Neptune City and their son Ryan Ferguson, RoseAnn’s siblings, spouses and their children, Michael and his wife Margaret Potito and his children Michael & Monica and their children Matthew & Mickey, Joseph Potito and his wife Cori and his children Malinda & Amy, and Nancy Kobin and husband Edward and their children Edward Jr. and Briana and many 1st cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Church, 406 Forman Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Please go directly to the Church on Monday as there will not be a procession from the funeral home. Private committal will be at the convenience of the Ferguson family.
