Obituary for John Joseph Brescia
John J. Brescia 80 of Brick Township and formerly of Shark River Hills, Neptune passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
John was a self employed plumber in the Shore area for many years. He was a veteran of the US Armed Forces and was a member of the American Legion Post # 346, Neptune, a life member of the Asbury Park /Wall Elks Lodge # 128. John was a Charter member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Belmar and was instrumental in the new clubhouse donating his time building the new kitchen.
Born in Newark, he had resided in Shark River Hills, Neptune before moving to Brick Township 30 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Edith (nee Matullo) Brescia.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Cindy (nee Eustace) Brescia, his 5 children and their spouses John Jr. and wife Jennifer, Lisa and Steve Bouer, Matthew, Jennifer and Tim Hughes and Deanna and Mike Patrone, his siblings, twin sister Carlotta Luongo and Mary Frain and 9 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 7:30pm at which time there will be a Funeral Service. Committal will be private at the convenience of the family.
