Maude H. Ogden, 93, of Wall, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018.
Mrs. Ogden was born in Jersey City to the late John D. and Blanche Kennelly. She was raised in Jersey City, and in her earlier years, worked as a receptionist for Colgate-Palmolive Company. Maude married Alan in 1951 and his career with Shell Oil brought about relocations to various places, including Cincinnati Ohio, Bayside Queens, Venezuela and London. But Maude always considered herself a “New Yorker” she loved all the energy of the city, the Theatre, the Arts and best of all the Fashion. She was an avid tennis player and never missed watching the Wimbledon tournaments. After her husband passed away, Maude moved to Avon-by-the-Sea and in more recent years, she resided in Spring Lake, where she assisted her niece in running the White Lilac Inn. More recently, Maude lived with her niece in Wall. Maude was a wonderful vibrant woman who took great pride in her appearance, she made lifelong friends of all ages, she loved to laugh, and she lived life to the fullest and will be missed. Maude said she was given extra good years thanks to her wonderful Cardiologist, Dr. Riple Hansalia of the Shore Heart Group.
Mrs. Ogden was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan, and by her siblings, William Kennelly, John Kennelly, and Blanche Lane. She is survived by her niece, Mari Kennelly, her great-niece, Sara Condon, her nephew, William Kennelly and her faithful side-kick Buddy.

Maude was such a beautiful, majestic woman who made a lasting impression on me when I first met her almost 50 years ago. At that time her flair for fashion, appreciation of the arts and intense love for her family struck me most. As I got to know her, I came to appreciate her wisdom, loyalty and that deep love that grew and grew. She was one of a kind! Blessings on her new life where she must be celebrating eternal youth! And gratitude for Mari for all the love and care that you poured out on Maude. What a gift you have been for one another!
