Susan Mae "Susie"  Kalmar (Fischer)
Susan Mae Kalmar, 71, formerly of Wall Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Kalmar worked for Howell Township in the Planning and Zoning Departments for many years before retiring earlier this year. She also worked as a real estate agent at the Arthur J. Dube Agency in Wall. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Belmar for over 50 years.
Born in East Orange, she was a lifelong resident of Sea Girt and Wall.
Mrs. Kalmar was predeceased by her father, Elmer Fischer; mother, Ruth Fischer Ortley; stepfather, Chester Ortley; and former husband, Thomas L. Kalmar.
Surviving are her daughters, Wendy Sue McNicholas and her husband, Jim of Oceanport and Tracy Lynn Kalmar of Maineville, OH; grandchildren, Kelly, Jamie and Trevor; as well as her precious grand fur babies, Pepper, Jaycee, Ulla, Ingrid and Preston.
Susie, as she was known to all, loved the beach, walking and dining with her friends, and never missed her grandchildren’s plays, concerts or ceremonies. She was an avid moviegoer and loved all things Disney.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall. A memorial service will be held 5pm on Wednesday, September 26,2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 600 9th Ave., Belmar, with a repast to follow. Burial of her cremated remains will take place privately at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the First Presbyterian Church, 600 9th Avenue, Belmar NJ 07719 or to the Jersey Shore Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
