Obituary for Robert Vincent Pringle

Robert Vincent  Pringle
Robert Vincent Pringle, 90, formerly of Belmar, NJ, currently of Winter Garden, FL passed away September 16, 2018. He was born in Harrison, NJ, son of the late Gladys Duckworth and John Pringle. On January 19, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Frank Pringle. Robert was a lifeguard in Belmar, and a lifelong parishioner of St. Rose Catholic Church. He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Robert joined the Belmar Police Department in 1948, where he worked as a patrolman and Sergeant. He was also an electrician with Freehold Electric IBEW Local 400. He became a Belmar Fire Official and Emergency Management Coordinator. Robert was a life member of Belmar’s Goodwill Hose Fire Company for 69 years, joining in 1949. During that time, he has served in many positions including President (1967), Chief (1960 through 1962), and Treasurer from 1973 to 1998, a position he held for 25 years. In 1999, Goodwill Hose Company honored him by renaming their firemen’s hall after him.

Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 64 years Lorraine, his son, Kevin James, his brothers Jack, William, Kenneth, Richard and his sister Gladys.

He is survived by his children Gregory (Maureen) Pringle, Clermont, FL; Glenn (Trish) Pringle, Wall, NJ; Sharon Rodriguez, Clermont, FL; Sean (Adrianne) Pringle, Wall, NJ; Karen (Mindy) Jacob; and Jeffrey Pringle, Freehold, NJ. He also has 17 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday September 24 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, New Jersey. A Firemen's Service will be held at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 10:30 am at Saint Rose RC Church, 603 7th Avenue, Belmar, NJ. Burial in the family plot will follow at Saint Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers, donations to Goodwill Hose Fire Company, 610 7th Avenue, Belmar, NJ 07719 would be appreciated.
