Obituary for Leo M. Quigley Jr.

Leo M. Quigley Jr. 70 of Belmar, NJ passed away peacefully Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Teaneck and raised in Roselle NJ. , Leo was the oldest of seven children, a devoted son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He loved living by the ocean in Avon and Belmar and did so for the past 30 years. Leo worked as an insurance underwriter until his retirement and made many lasting friendships along the way. He was a kind soul, always ready with an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on or a couch to sleep on. He was a parishioner of St. Rose Church, Belmar as well as an avid NY Yankee and NY Jets Fan. He enjoyed going to the inlet with a good cup of tea, a tall pint of Guinness, and dancing the night away.
Leo was predeceased by his parents; Catherine and Leo M. Quigley. Surviving are his children; Lauren Quigley and her husband James Harhai, Peter Quigley and his wife Laval Bryant-Quigley, 2 grandchildren; Solamon and Zoey. He also leaves his 6 siblings; Joseph Quigley and his wife Barbara, Maureen Quigley and her companion James George, James Quigley, John Quigley and his wife Luann, Dennis Quigley and his wife Lauren, William Quigley and his wife Karen and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be Friday, from 4-8 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 9AM at St. Rose Church, Belmar. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Leo’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
