Barbara A. (O’Mara) Colley, 62, of Brick, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Born October 7, 1955, in Kearny, NJ, her family moved to Brick where she remained a lifelong resident.
On April 29, 1977, she married Gregory H. Colley – her husband of 41 years. She had a loving heart and many passions - her family, reading, the beach, the Manasquan Inlet and Ogunquit, Maine. A real estate broker and office manager, Barbara had a fondness for researching her family’s history across the generations. She was known for her smile, beautiful spirit, tremendous compassion and love for her family and friends – including her grandpuppy Emaline. Her influence will continue to make a difference in the lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her parents, William E. O’Mara & Helen M. (Davies) O’Mara, and brother Dennis W. O’Mara. Barbara is survived by her husband, Gregory H. Colley; two children, son Gregory A. Colley of Brick, daughter Jacqueline E. (Colley) Anderson of Brick, son-in-law Ian J. Anderson of Brick; two cousins, Marilyn Miller and John S. McCarthy; numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave. Lakewood, NJ, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 11 AM. Pursuant to the family’s wishes, visitation and burial will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Barbara to the Marginal Way Preservation Fund – marginalwayfund.org.
