Obituary for Robert William Baechler

Robert William Baechler
Robert (Bob) Baechler of Brick Township passed away on September 10, 2018 to a rare and extremely progressive form of dementia.

He is survived by his sons—Robert Jr. and his wife Justina of Brick, and Gregory and his wife Pam of Point Pleasant; his daughter Deb Coburn and her husband Mike of Arlington, VA; and his four grandchildren—Nicholle, Jocelyn, Danica, and William.

Bob was multi-talented—a machinist, carpenter, and a renowned boat builder. If he wasn’t working in the shop or on his 35-ft Duffy boat, he was relaxing in his recliner enjoying his grandkids or a football game.

Bob’s wife, Maryann, passed away in early 2017. Amid tragedy, God and the universe often offer a small wink of comfort: on the day of his passing, he was reunited with Maryann on their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Bob’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 14 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home at 505 Burnt Tavern Rd, Brick, NJ 08724. A 30-minute memorial service will begin on Friday at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s hospital.
