Obituary for Nancy Manno (Popolo)
Nancy Manno, 108, of Toms River passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August, 14, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Manno was a sales clerk at Bamberger’s Department Store in Newark for many years before retiring. She enjoyed family gatherings and trips to Atlantic City.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she lived in Newark before moving to Toms River over 40 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Manno in 2004; daughter, Angel Abruzzo in 2018; son-in-law, Charles Abruzzo in 2016; and her siblings: Charles, Jimmy, Joe and Catherine Popolo.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Denise Cohen and her husband, Jeff; Lisa Mazurek; and Sam Abruzzo and his wife, Gnosha. She had 8 great grandchildren: Corinne and Lucas Mazurek, Carly and Rachel Cohen, Charlie and Nicholas Abruzzo and Carlie and Tyler Smith.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10am – 12pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 11:30am in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the VNA Hospice, 1433 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08755.
