Condolence: I only worked with Bart for a short time at SIUH, but found him to be such a nice, good guy. I am so saddened to just now learn of his passing. Sending prayers to his family.

Condolence: I am so sorry to have learned about Bart's passing. While we never met face-to-face, he contacted me while researching an antique padlock he recovered from the SS Delaware on May 20, 2016. As my memorial to him, I have shared some photos on this site. Condolence: Bart Major was a unique and vivacious individual who never backed down when he knew he was right, who never let down those he loved and cared for. A man that lived life fully and with great gusto! He was my friend for over three decades and I was very much looking forward to seeing him again in September. The world is diminished by the loss of this wonderful fellow, husband and Father. I will miss you, my Friend! My heart bleeds for Anne and his two Daughters, now bereft of their stalwart family man. I sincerely miss you Bart, may you Rest In Peace.

Condolence: This is so sad. My deepest condolences. Bart and I grew up together in Ringwood and became closer friends in Lakeland Regional High School. I recently reconnected with him through his brother Gasper. I was emailing Bart about our upcoming 35th high school reunion and giving him the details. Rest in peace my friend. I will keep the Major family in my prayers.

Condolence: All my sympathy to Anne and the rest of the Major Family. I knew and loved Bart as that man who was everyone's friend and appreciated by all for being an individual who stood behind what he believed, and enjoyed life to its fullest. I have no doubt that Heaven has a new dive master and he is there telling everyone "come on, its easy". Thank you Bart for the brief moments we spent together!

Condolence: My sincerest condolences to the Major Family. I have fond memories of my buddy all the way back to kindergarten where we sat next to one another till 3rd grade and I watched Bart catch minnows and crayfish in the Peter Cooper stream at lunchtime and dissect them in his desk while the teacher looked away. Bart was a friend to me, he always went out of his way to help me, he was always genuinely concerned and he would always make me laugh during the most chaotic times at work.
