Obituary for Carl Robert "Bud" Nitschke

Carl Robert "Bud"  Nitschke
Carl “Bud” Robert Nitschke, 81, of Brick passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Mr. Nitschke was a truck driver for most of his life and worked for Point Pleasant Hospital. He also worked at The Idle Hour in Point Pleasant before his illness. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He also was a dedicated member of the Union Township Fire Department for many years.

Born in Newark, he grew up in Union and lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Greenbriar II in Brick 16 years ago where he played poker with the Monday night Texas Hold ‘em group.

Predeceased by his parents, Carl H. Nitschke and Mithilde (von der Heide) Nitschke.

Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth (Lytle) Nitschke; a cousin, Gail Fortier of Punta Gorda, FL. as well as his many in-laws or “outlaws” and many treasured nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews, all part of the Lytle clan he joined.

Viewing will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted 10am on Friday in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
