Obituary for Dominick A. Ignoscia

Dominick A.  Ignoscia
Dominick A. Ignoscia, 78, of Howell, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at his home.
Dominick was born in New York City, and raised in Plainfield. He later resided in North Plainfield and Dunellen before moving to Wall in 1995 where he lived until 2015. He was a graduate of Plainfield High School and studied at the University of Connecticut and Union County College. He also served in the Army National Guard and Air Force. He had a successful career, serving as Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Bell Atlantic and to the President of Philips Lighting Co., from which he retired. He was a trained tenor and opera aficionado, who held Mario Lanza in the highest regard. He was also an avid Yankee fan, and possessed an extensive knowledge of all things pertaining to cars, planes and trains.
Dominick was predeceased by his parents, Domenic and Lena (nee Rutigliano) Ignoscia, and by his brother-in-law, James Huff. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Corinne (nee Miele), his sister Rosemary Huff of Stirling, his children and their spouses- Paul and Sharon Ignoscia of Freehold, Carolyn and William Lester of Middlesex, and Thomas and Roseann Ignoscia of Red Bank. Also surviving are his stepchildren and their spouses, Andrew and Betsy Ostergaard of New Mexico, Daniel Ostergaard of North Carolina, Reenie and Mark Seitz of Belford, and Kenneth Ostergaard of Howell; as well as 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was looking forward to the arrival of another great-grandchild.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 3-7 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. William the Abbot Church, Howell, on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 10 AM, followed by burial at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dominick’s memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675-8517.
