Obituary for Lawrence Patrick Parkin

Lawrence Patrick  Parkin
Lawrence Patrick Parkin, 60, of Point Pleasant Beach passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Mr. Parkin was a steamfitter by trade and worked many years within the Steamfitters Union, Local #475 in Warren. He enjoyed riding his bike along the coast as well as kayaking, woodworking, creating stained glass, and going to the gym.
Born and raised in Summit, he lived in Belmar and Brick before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 14 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Parkin; and by his brother, John Parkin. Surviving are his daughter, Christina Parkin of Lakewood; wife, Kathleen Parkin of Lakewood; brothers, Ward Parkin of Maryland, Paul Parkin of Maryland and Robert Parkin of Clinton; sister, Grace Parkin of Chatham Twp. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visiting will be on Friday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:15pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be private. Donations may be made in his name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
