Obituary for Chris M. Menconi
Chris Menconi, 52, of Brielle, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at his home.
Chris was born in Jersey City and grew up in Union City. He moved to Oceanport in 1983 and to Brielle several years ago. After graduating from Shore Regional High School he embarked on a career with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, where he worked as a sign fabricator for the Garden State Parkway until his death. He served as a volunteer firefighter for many years with the Branchport and Brielle Fire Departments. He was a member of the Manasquan Elks Lodge #2534 as well as an avid golfer, football fan, and dart player.
Chris was predeceased by his father Giulio Menconi. He is survived by his mother, Marguerite Menconi, his brothers and sisters-in-law Leonard and Kathleen Menconi of Freehold, and Steven and Lisa Menconi of Montvale, and his sister Elyse Menconi of Toms River. Also surviving are Chris’s nephews and nieces, Jacqueline and Mike Speziale, Ryan, Evan, Rachel and Drew Menconi, and Jaime Luminoso. Chris will be terribly missed by his loving companion and best friend Liz Wall, of Brielle.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, from 12pm with a service to follow at 4:00PM. Cremation will take place privately. In lieu of flowers donations in Chris’s memory may be made to Branchport Hose Co., 241 Branchport Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740, Manasquan Elks Lodge #2534, 17 Stockton Lake Blvd., Manasquan, NJ 08736, or Brielle Fire Department, 509 Longstreet Ave., Brielle, NJ 08730.
